Frequently Asked Questions

Player Expectations

● Players are to show up every day dressed appropriately and on time, ready to work
● Schedule doctor appointments and other things around football
● MUST learn to be accountable for their time and commitment
● Players are to be the best students they can be, but are not allowed to miss practice (during the season) because of homework or studying.
   They must learn how to manage their time
● Only 3 reasons to miss a practice:
  • Sick (Did not go to school…not, I’m not feeling well at the end of the day, so I am going home)
  • Religious Holiday
  • Family emergency

Parent Expectations

● Support and encourage your child
● DO NOT COACH or give them unsolicited advice (Trust me, they do not want it)
● Volunteer (All families must volunteer…find a way to make it happen, we are all busy)
● Are responsible for being on all communication lists and reading all communications
● Each family is expected to volunteer for four (4) game‑experience opportunities per season.

Veer Camp

● Overnight Camp at Montrose High School
● Camp teaches us our base offense
● Players stay at the Comfort Inn (Birch Run)
● All Meals are provided
● ALL Players are to attend
● Cost is included in the Booster Club fee

Booster Club Fee (What does it cover)

● 2 Summer camps (Big 5 and Veer Camp)
● All food costs throughout the season
● All overnight stays for camp and hell week
● Coaches salaries
● Hudl subscription

Summer Expectations

● All Players are expected to attend every day
● Players MUST notify Coach DeWald when they are unable to make summer workouts
● Players are encouraged NOT to miss a family vacation during the months of June and July
● Workouts/Practices and 7on7’s are in the morning, so players have the entire day to enjoy summer

Hell Week (Sunday, August 9th)

● 10th, 11th, and 12th-grade players stay at Seaholm in the Aux Gym
● All meals are provided
● NO ELECTRONICS
● New to the program, 10th graders and incoming 9th graders DO NOT STAY at Seaholm

Varsity/JVA/JVB Teams

● We always want to make every effort to field 3 football teams Varsity, JVA, and JVB
● JVB all 9th graders and any new 10th grader to the program
● Varsity and JVA are 1 team. (Players may move up and down from Varsity to JV week to week based on ability and Varsity team needs)
● Seaholm’s philosophy: We believe there is no substitute for game reps…We want kids to find a way on the field to get game experience; grade does not matter when determining team rosters

In Season Varsity/JVA Weekly Practice Schedule

● Mondays 5pm Film Practice 6-8:30pm
● Tuesdays 3pm Lift Practice 4-6:30
● Wednesday 3pm Film Practice 4-6:30
● Thursday 3pm Film Practice 4-5:30 (JVA Potential gameday)
● Friday GameDay!! Players DO NOT leave the school
● Saturday 9am Film 11-12 Lift (JVA Potential gameday)


In Season JVB Weekly Practice Schedule

● Mondays Practice 3:30-5:30
● Tuesdays Practice 3:30-5:30
● Wednesday Practice 3:3-5:30
● Thursdays GameDay!!
● Friday Practice 3:30-5:00

Adrenaline Fundraiser

● Sunday August 16th 1-2pm
● ALL PLAYERS MUST ATTEND
● Players must get contact information for 25 people they can call to ask for a donation

Week of Champions

● Tuesday May 26th-Friday May 29th
● 6-7am ALL PLAYERS Show up (incoming 9th graders come to watch on Friday morning)
● If a player has a game for their spring sport, they still come and watch
● Week of Champions finishes with a Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser on Friday, May 29th
